Birth and Death

Paul was born on January 1, 1735 in Boston, Massachusetts. He passed away on May 10, 1818 at age 83 and is buried in Boston's Granary Burying Ground.

~Childhood/ Family Information~

His father was Apollos Rivoire and his mother was Deborah Hitchborn. He had 11 sibling growing up. he was married 3 different times. His First child was born in April 1758 and eventually had 16 children with two wives, each with 8 children.


He began his education at the age of 6 at the North writing school. He apprenticed his father as a silversmith and eventually became one himself. His family attended the New Brick Church. When Paul was younger he found a job as a bell ringer in a different church called Christ Church.

~Contrbutions to Change~

-He took part in the Boston Tea Party to protest British tax on goods

-He rode The Midnight Ride to Lexington to warn American Patriots about the British marching toward them

-He was a federalist who disliked the policies of the Jeffersonian Democrats

-He helped cause a lot of the friction that pushed the British

Most people remember him for his famed midnight ride, which took place 236 years ago. But there's a lot more to the story of American history's archetypal patriot, Paul Revere. Everyone THINKS that Paul made it to Lexington shouting "the British are coming, the British are coming, but he was captured before he made it to Lexington.
