Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, his real name, but known as Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a Portuguese professional soccer player. He is playing for the Spanish club team Real Madrid and the national team Portuguese. His position is forward, and captain for Portugal. With all his skills and talents, the Portuguese Football Federation announced Ronaldo as the "Best Portuguese Player Of All Time.



Ronaldo started his career as a youth player for Andorinha, where he played for two years. In 2003, he signed for Manchester United for £12.2 million. Then in 2004, he got his first trophy, the FA cup. 2007, Ronaldo was named Footballer of the Year. then in 2008, he was named FIFA Player of the Year. He had become the most expensive player when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid, in a transfer of $132 million.



Ronaldo was born in Santo Antonio, a neighborhood of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He was born on Feb. 5, 1985. He is the youngest child. He has one older brother and two older sisters. Ronaldo had lived in poverty. He was popular at school, but he was expelled because he threw a chair at his teacher. After that, he had lots of hard times, but still got through those obstacles and proceeded on and started his soccer career at 8 years of age. Most importantly, he kept trying even when all his friends and family was against him. Which demonstrates a "Growth Mindset."
