PTO meeting - Tomorrow - March 5th
Lost and Found
Please take a look at the below items and let us know if you recognize any of them. As many of you are aware, we tend to accumulate A LOT of lost items throughout the year. Each week we will send a picture of lost items for you to claim. If they are not claimed then we will ensure that they go to a donation center in our area. What is most helpful is if you label your child's clothing and school items. We can then easily identify the item and make sure that the lost item is found and hopefully also save you a trip to have to buy another one. Please label items such as jackets, sweatshirts, water bottles, and lunchboxes. As winter approaches please make sure that you label boots, snow pants, hats, and mittens. Black snow pants seem to be a favorite here at Rose Glen and so labeling them will ensure that everyone has their own black snow pants and that if a pair gets lost then we can ensure it gets to the right child. Thank you for your help with this and looking forward to year with minimal lost items :) Please email Cathe Sweet at csweet@waukesha.k12.wi.us if you recognize any of the items.
You are welcome to come to school and look through the Lost and Found for your child's belongings, so you don't have to rely exclusively on our pictures.
Please contact us asap because all items will be donated on Friday, March 8th, 2019.

Day of Awesomeness on March 15th!!
In just a few weeks we are having our "Day of Awesomeness" at Rose Glen! Our students and thei families worked really hard to raise money for our Step It Up Fundraiser! We were able to raise over $32,000!! This means Rose Glen will get 50% of that (about $16,000)!
Now it's time for the kids to party and enjoy the fun day they earned. We are in need of some volunteers to make the day run smoothly. If it's possible to do two shifts for this that would be amazing. We need 12 volunteers for each time slot. Thanks so much for your time!!

Guidance Lessons for March
As we move into March, please feel free to stop into a monthly lesson to see the learning happening around SEL through our School Counseling Lessons. I'll be looking for feedback in the coming months around what you'd like to see next year with our School Counseling Model.
Newsletter Overview:
Mindfulness strategies are tools we can use to calm our bodies, manage difficult situations, and train our brains and attention.
Article: Mindfulness for Parents
5 ways to be mindful throughout your day:
Listen to your child with full attention (focus on listening)
Accept your child (and yourself) without judgment in that moment.
Imagine your child’s feelings and match your response (pause before you react; gain understanding)
Show compassion for yourself and your child in that moment.
Article on mindfulness apps for kids and article on reducing stressful mornings.-
Safe Arrival Attendance Notification System
This information was sent to all Rose Glen Families on Friday, 9/28 and has been active since October 8th, but we have discovered that some parents are not yet using it, so we are including this information again.
Here are a few tips that will help make your transition to the new system easier.
1) By far the easiest way to interact with the new system is by downloading the app on your phone and signing up for an account.
2) If you are not an app user and prefer to use your computer signup and login at https://go.schoolmessenger.com/
3) The number to report an absence by phone is: 1-866-490-7371. By dialing direct from a phone that is registered with the district, the system should recognize the number you are calling from and be able to quickly identify your children and allow you to confirm their absence.

Snow Makeup Day Information
Inclement Weather Guidelines Letter
We are aware that the Safe Arrival System does not allow parents to enter "weather" as a reason for a child's absence, so if that is reason for your child's absence just enter the reason as "other" and call or send an email indicating that the reason is "weather related" and we will make a note in Infinite Campus.
