On the Trail - Mustang Families
February 28 - March 4
Go Mustangs! A Community with Respect, Integrity and Confidence
Term 3 has only 2 more weeks - wow time is flying by!
As we approach final exams, we continue to do our best to help all of our students and families to improve student outcomes.
This year is not without it's challenges still but I am forever impressed with how our community celebrates one another and maintains our drive and resilience to push forward for our students. They are why we are here and why we don't settle for status quo. They deserve the best we can give and I have no doubt that we will continue to do just that.
We appreciate all of our families who are partnering with us as we continue to adjust to any new guidelines or situations each week. We value your input and voice as we work to continuously improve.
Remind your students to attend ASSETs tutoring, communicate with their teachers and try their hardest to do well through active participation in class and making the most of their school day so that they can finish strong this term.
And one thing is for sure, we are going to continue to be together as One Trail making this the best place for all of our students, families and staff. There are many exciting things coming - prom, ball, rallies, performing arts, awards and more - including Graduation at Golden 1! There is so much to be excited about for the end of the year.
But, first, let's finish strong in Term 3 and keep partnering together to support our students throughout. Then, we will rest and rejuvenate over spring break to come back and finish out this amazing year!
Go Mustangs!
Staff and Student Health and Safety
As of writing this, we are still held to wearing masks indoors on campus.
We anticipate some new guidelines coming possibly Monday and will wait for EGUSD to let us know our directives to follow.
We will continue to follow EGUSD protocols no matter how the off campus rules/policies change. If there is an update, EGUSD communications will notify us.
Thank you for continuing to follow protocols for safety and health of everyone.
Bell to Bell instruction and student/staff safety
And
We need your help to remind students to do their best and stay in class and follow school policies.
Please remind your students for their success and safety:
- being in class the whole period and on time helps with their success
- do not leave class NOR campus without permission (we are a closed campus)
- respect adult directives and acknowledge when they are talking to you
- do not leave class without asking permission from your teacher and you MUST have a pass or will have to return to class to get one
- if arriving after gates closed at 8 OR returning from a dismissal for an appointment you MUST go to the front office to check in before entering campus
- no food deliveries at all - food is free at lunch to all in cafeteria
- do not open a door for others or prop doors - this is a safety issue as non-students may enter campus when this occurs which poses a threat to safety
This takes us all to help keep students in class and learning for their success as well as keeping students and staff safe.
Thank you for your help!

Important Items for Mustang Success
Conflict Mediation - refer someone else or self refer
Struggling students? Reporting incidents or concerns
- refer students in "drama" or in "need" to conflict mediation
- seek help by connecting with counselors or admin as needed
Students can self refer to conflict mediation as well. See the form above for referrals.
Remind students of our Anonymous Incident Reporting system on our website. It allows for anonymous reporting of bullying, self harm, violence, harassment and more. If the person allows us, we can also communicate two way to get additional details while they still remain anonymous if they choose.

Feelings Wheel
Health and Safety FIRST - masks on and no food deliveries allowed
Thank you to all who have continued to respect our safety rules/policies.
No Food Deliveries -
As sent at the beginning of the year, all staff members have been instructed to not have potlucks due to COVID safety protocols AND we will NOT accept food deliveries of any kind at the front office nor through gates, etc.
In addition: Our school does not allow deliveries of food items from third party vendors such as Grub Hub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. This is to ensure the safety of our staff and students. We cannot have strangers coming to the school gates/main office to make transactions with students. These items will be refused.
When a student takes a delivery through the gates, the items will be taken for pick up after school and discarded if not picked up.
Remember, all students receive free lunch at MT this year. There is no need for these deliveries so please respect the policy.
Masks on and other protocols continue:
Daily protocols:
- Wear Masks indoors - mandatory regardless of vaccination status
- Hand wash and sanitize often - entrance/exit of rooms
- Have up to date daily seating charts/group charts, and accurate attendance records - this matters so much
- Do not come to school if you have symptoms - staff contact admin and students/families contact the school for admin to then follow protocols directed by nurses in contact with the county and health authorities
- Recommended wear masks in large groups outdoors - our lunch and passing periods for example
- Help remind students of the protocols as you pass by and in your classrooms/offices, etc.
