What is a Forensic Scientist?
Forensic scientists provide impartial scientific evidence for use in courts of law to support the prosecution or defence in criminal and civil investigations. They are primarily concerned with examining contact trace material associated with crimes. This follows the principle that 'every contact leaves a trace' that will offer potential evidence to link a suspect with the scene of the crime, the victim or the weapon.
Benefits in being a Forensic Scientists
Salary
A Forensic Scientist earn around $50,000-$60,000, but can make up to $80,000
Training
Most of Forensic Scientists will also have the same training of a police officer. This means you will have learned how to use firearms and self defense
Knowledge
Becoming a Forensic Scientist will make you know everything from biology, Chemistry and law. All of these are beneficial when looking for another job.

There are many schools that provide the classes you need to pursuit your career as a Forensic Scientist. The best place to start is to get your basics at a community college.
