November Observance
In conjunction with NaNoWriMo, it's also NaBloPoMo or National Blog Posting Month. Have you ever used a blog in your classroom? There are many FREE tools available to incorporate this into your classroom. MyBigCampus has a built in feature that's ready to use when you are.
Blog's are a quick way to get your students writing in response to reading. If you'd like help in getting started, shoot me an email.
Schedule 11/10-11/14

Wednesday: AIS First
Thursday: Harrison
Friday: Flex Time (Send me your requests!) AM, Coaches MTG PM
Blogs as Writing Practice
You never know when you're going to hit a homerun with those students who never seem to be comfortable sharing with the class or with those who are reluctant writers. Blogs can be a safe zone for anyone to share their thoughts. Check out more ideas on using a blog in your classroom HERE.
Let's get APPY
I was challenged this week to find apps that are FREE/ low cost for K-2. I stumbled across this list of apps recommended by a fellow kindergarten teacher. Check out Matt Gomez' Apps for Primary Grades.
Exit Tickets, Quotes, Summaries and MORE
Recite is a super simple web tool that will allow your students to present a thought, GIST, exit ticket, quote quickly and beautifully. It has lots of options in formatting to allow some creativity. Have the students create a Recite and share! How could you use this in your Classroom tomorrow?
30 Day Challenge
Day 16- Mix It Up With Voki
We are half way done with the challenge. We are focusing on tools that will help you enhance your evaluation score. Have you joined the conversation?

EVSC Photo Challenge - Week 14
EVSC is holding a weekly photo challenge for teachers to capture the happenings of their classrooms. This week our topic is:
HEROES
Please submit any photos from the week by:
- You can share via Instagram- Simply post your Instagram photos using the hashtag #EVSCstory. Feel free to add other hashtags as well to indicate the theme (e.g. #Selfie), or add more information to the caption to help tell the story.
- You can share via Twitter- Post your photos to Twitter using the hashtag#EVSCstory. Again, we invite you to add other hashtags, including some of our EVSC hashtags like #evscchat. You can also include our Twitter handle (@evscicats) to ensure we see your pictures as soon as you post.
- You can share via Facebook- Visit our ICATS Facebook page, click the Message button in the upper-right corner, and in the text of the message give us your name, school, and the theme for the week. Be sure to attach the photo by clicking the Add Files button. While you are there, we’d love it if you liked our page
- You can share via Google Drive- If social media isn’t your thing, feel free to share your photos directly with us through Google Drive. Use this link to access our shared folder. You will need to then click the blue Open in Drive button. Then drag your photo into the window, or click the red upload arrow in the upper-left to search for your photo and click Open. It would help us if you would name your photo with the week’s theme and your name and school.
How to Check Out the Photos
After each week’s challenge, we will post a link to the archive of the week’s photos here. Follow the link, and enjoy the story that unfolds!
