Alumni & Local Radio/TV Personality Visits with Video Production Classes
Recently, FHS alum Paul Cimoch (‘17) and Milwaukee Radio and TV personality Van McNeil visited with video production classes at FHS. Paul is the Game Director and Assistant General Manager of the Milwaukee Milkmen and MKE Wave. Paul and Van spoke to students about the employment opportunities on the video and PR crews for the Milwaukee Milkmen.
Paul was a video student and member of the Saber Roar while at FHS. He told the students that he credits the 3-year experience in the FHS video program for preparing him with the vital skills in communication, collaboration, and self-determination he needed in college. After getting his degree from UW LaCrosse, he's back home working for ROC (Return on Community) Ventures and Milwaukee Milkmen, where he has held jobs since the age of 16. Paul stressed that you don't know where your next job will come from and how he’s proud to work at ROC Ventures where they want to help develop students of FHS and our surrounding community. Paul also shared about the upcoming ROC Ventures job fair taking place on Tues, April 12th from 3:30-6pm (learn more here). When asked about the essential skills needed for working in video/media, Paul and Van shared that hard work and a willingness to learn and take direction were keys to success. These are all skills the students currently practice and enhance in the video production program at FHS.
