DVD Literacy

Our DVD Literacy committee will begin taping students soon! DVD Literacy is a program offered by Vernfield's Home and School Association.

Each year, each student that participates is recorded reading part of a favorite book and asked several questions about their school experience. At the end of their 5th grade year, the students will receive a DVD with their recordings from each year on it.

Taping will begin soon with 5th Grade. Please look for more information soon in your child's Communicator. The reminder form and questions can be found online here.

If you have not yet signed a permission form for your child (it only needs to be done once), a copy will be sent home in your child's communicator or you can find it online here (see also permission letter).

The DVD Literacy committee needs volunteers to help record the students during the school day. No experience necessary! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Amy Thompson at

Lip Sync

Please save the date for our annual Lip Sync event, which will be held on Friday, March 9th at Indian Crest Middle School. Look for more information coming home in your child's Communicator soon!
