From The Special Needs Advisory Council
This year in 2020, we are celebrating the 75th year of Disability Awareness Month as well as the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The purpose of Disability Awareness Month is to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities into our schools and communities and to highlight the wonderful contributions they make. The teachers in our district will be sharing this message with our students through books, classroom discussions, and assignments. We hope that you will take the opportunity this month to talk with your student about how we can appreciate and celebrate differences and individuality.
