Week of November 11, 2013
English Language Arts
Miss Warnke: We will be making final revisions to our personal narratives and turning them in. In Achieve3000 this week we will focus on asking questions. We will continue reading aloud “The Witches”. Students should continue reading at home each night.
Mrs. Allen: We will be working on our Literature Circle book/jobs as well as Teenbiz3000. Students have required reading every day for their book. Please ask them about the book and their current job. Jobs will be due Tuesday and Friday of this week.
Ms. Naze: Students will be starting book clubs this week. They will have a schedule set up with expectations each day. This week will be largely in class so they get the routine going and don't have too much homework with testing going on.
Math 4: We’ll be finishing up and testing on Unit 3, then starting Unit 4, working with surface area of prisms and pyramids.
Math 7, 8: We will be reviewing all operations using decimals. We will then start working with fractions by comparing, finding equivalent fractions and then adding and subtracting fractions.
We will continue our new journey into space. Students will take a quiz on Telescopes (Chapter 1, section 2) on Wednesday.
We are continuing our study on the Industrial Revolution and the Progressive Era. There are guiding questions in Schoology for direction on their notes.
WKCE Testing - 12th - 14th
Students need to have several sharpened #2 pencils, a calculator (cannot use iPad), a chapter book to read. Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest and eats a hearty breakfast in the morning so they can do their best on the test. Students may also bring a healthy snack and drink to have at break time.
