SHS Archers moving on to Nationals
The 2018 SHS archery team made history this weekend shooting the highest score any SHS archery team has ever scored at the Indiana NASP State Tournament. Their score of 3280 points ranked them 12 out of the 35 high schools that competed. Sophomore Lyndie Foster was the highest SHS shooter with an impressive 281 points. She ranked 11 out of the 109 sophomore girls that shot in the 2018 state tournament. Lyndie has worked hard on her archery form and has steadily improved all season. Senior Ben LaMaster was the 2nd highest Warrior with a score of 280 points. State wide, Ben ranked 10 out of the 65 senior boys. Senior William Bowyer shot the 3rd best Warrior score. His score of 279 ranked him 14 out of the 65 senior boys. Sophomore Decklan Bramble peaked just in time to turn in the 4th highest Warrior score. He also scored 279 points but placed three fewer arrows in ten ring than William. Decklan is ranked 19 out of the 113 sophomore boys that competed. Sophomore Madison Deich rounded out the top 5 with a score of 274. Madison ranks 23 out of the 109 sophomore girls at the 2018 State Tournament. The rest of the team put in a stellar performance to make SHS the 12th best archery team in the state. Although it is not official, the Warrior’s team score of 3280 points will more than likely qualified them to compete in the National Tournament being held in Louisville, KY on May 10-12. Congratulations SHS Warrior Archery team!
