The Book Fair is Coming November 18-December 1

Join us in sharing a love of reading with our students at THE Leadership Academy.

Our PTA is sponsoring the Scholastic Book Fair from November 18-December 1

This will be a virtual event!

  • Visit the Book Fair online as a family.

  • Talk with your children about what they are reading.

  • Connect your children with books they want to
    read and build your home library.

It’s a great way to ensure your children’s success!

Let's Work Together!

  • Please do not send your child to school if they have any "cold-like" symptoms and please notify us immediately if your child has been exposed to anyone who is COVID-19 Positive.

  • Please screen your child for symptoms of COVID-19 before bringing them to school each day. We thank you for your attention to this very important process

    • Specifically, please screen your child for any of the following symptoms associated with COVID-19: cough, fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.

  • If your child has any of these symptoms, please do not send your child to school and notify the school of the absence and any symptoms experienced.

  • Additionally, in the event that your child has been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous two weeks, do not send your child to school and notify the school that the student has been kept home for this reason. The child will not be able to return to school until permitted by the School in compliance with direction from the San Diego Health & Human Services Agency and the San Diego Public Health Order.

THE Leadership Academy is a Leader in Me School What are the 7 Habits?

Habit One: Be Proactive

  • I have a “can do” attitude.

  • I choose my actions, attitudes and moods. I don’t blame others. I do the right thing without being asked, even if nobody is looking.

Habit Two: Begin with the End in Mind

  • I plan ahead and set goals.

  • I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my classroom. I look for ways to be a good citizen.

Habit Three: Put First Things First

  • I spend my time on things that are most important.

  • This means I say no to things I should not do.

  • I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan. I am organized.

Habit Four: Think Win-Win

  • I want everyone to be a success. I don’t have to put others down to get what I want. It makes me happy to see other people happy. I like to do nice things for others. When a conflict arises, I help brainstorm a solution. We all can win!

Habit Five: Seek First To Listen, Then to Be Understood

  • I listen to other people’s ideas and feelings. I try to see things from their viewpoints.

  • I listen to others without interrupting. I am confident in voicing my ideas.

Habit Six: Synergize

  • I value other people’s strengths and learn from them. I get along well with others, even people who are different from me. I work well in groups. I seek out other people’s ideas to solve problems. I know that “two heads are better than one. I am a better person when I let other people into my life and work.

Habit Seven: Sharpen the Saw

  • I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting sleep. I spend time with family and friends. I learn in lots of ways and in lots of places.

Parent - Teacher Conferences 2020 Save the Dates!

Parent Conferences for virtual and classic students will take place the week of December 8-11, 2020. These will be minimum days and all parent conferences will be held virtually.
