What We Are Learning This Week

Language Arts: This week,we will be reading Rosie Revere Engineer by Andrea Beaty. We will describe the character's impact, why an author uses rhyme and irregular verbs. In spelling this week, we will be studying words with the consonants kn, wr, gn, and mb. Our spelling test will be on Friday, April 1st.

Social Studies: We will continue our unit on Citizenship. Students will identify customs, symbols, and celebrations that represent American beliefs and principles that contribute to our national identity. Students will be expected to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag and the Pledge to the Texas Flag by April 1st.

Math: In math we will look at what multiplication is and how we can use objects to represent multiplication equations. Along with that we will continue to review counting up to $1.00

Science: In science we discuss the physical properties of matter and look at how we can change the properties of matter. Key words: solid, liquid, gas, properties


We are in need of a volunteer for Monday and Thursday of this coming week. As a reminder, our lunch is from 11:45-12:15 and your child's teacher appreciates you coming to help! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Although our 2nd grade darlings will not be taking the STAAR assessment this year, we wanted to pass along the dates as our campus will be closed to volunteers and visitors on testing dates, you will notice that we will be unable to have lunch room volunteers on these dates as well. Here are the STAAR testing dates for students in 3rd-5th Grade:
