WBMS Friday Notes
October 22-26
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
We had another big week! Our 8th graders illustrated their knowledge on The IOWA test, our 7th graders geared up for desktop stores with their prototypes, our 6th graders focused on WWII, weathering, book clubs, percents, decimals, and fractions. We honored our School Resource Officer and Bus Drivers as this was their appreciation week, and we showed our support for the fight against breast cancer with a Friday Pink Out. In addition, we kicked off our Book Fair! Our biggest event this week was our annual International Night. Twenty countries were represented by our staff and families in our cafeteria. Tables were piled high with delicious food and cultural presentations. There were traditional games, arts and crafts, and music. Our school was packed with families and community members, and adults and children were dressed in the clothing representing many countries. It was truly a sight to see! Then bagpipes announced the start of a parade; our students carried flags from around the world and marched into the gym followed by the crowd. Our student MCs introduced 15 student groups who showcased cultural performances, and impressed us all with everything from martial arts to dancing to music to Yoyoing! They demonstrated more than talent; they displayed part of their identities, and it was beautiful! So many of our families and staff say this is their favorite night of the year, and I could not agree more! Watching our diverse community unite to celebrate together fills our building with joy.

Carpool Reminders
Carpool Safety at WBMS:
For the safety of our students, please follow our carpool safety guidelines:
- Our one and only carpool entrance is in the front of the building.
- Please drop and retrieve students in the front of the school. There is no drop off or retrieval in the bus area or by the music hall.
- Our carpool drop off and retrieval car line follows a signal (not double) lane. If the line is backed up in the circle, cars should wind around the parking lot.
- When approaching the front of the carpool line, please pull up to the yellow line (past the front entrance to the school).
- There is no parking in the carpool line or pick-up/drop-off circle for any reason.
- With one carpool entrance, we must be courteous of other drivers.
- Please remind your child to wait on the sidewalk close to the pick-up/drop-off area, watch for your vehicle, and not to cross in front of cars in the carpool lane.
Thank you for your cooperation.
