Curriculum Updates:
Negotiated Rulemaking: Negotiated Rulemaking is in progress for the content standard areas of Social Studies, Career & Tech Ed. and Computer Science, Libary Media, & Technology. See the link below to read the draft standards and complete economic impact surveys for each area. Also, Cherie Stobie is one of the members of the Negotiated Rulemaking Committee for Social Studies. You may contact her directly with questions and feedback. If you are interested in the negotiated rulemaking process and would like to view the first meetings of these committees, the links are provided below.

IEFA: During our Focus Year 1-Mtg. 1 we accomplished the following:
- A close read of old and new Essential Understandings, for the intentional wording changes and reasons for them.
- History, Playing, and Making of Stick Game (Hand Game).
- Sharing from Tribal Ed PIR Day & Summer Institute at Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian/Native Knowledge 360.
- Reviewed recommended book list & curriculum map outline (prior Co-op work).
- Updated presenter contacts & resources documents.
- Planned for upcoming March 10th Mtg.
World Languages: Teachers from GHS, FHS, Marion, Kila, Bissell, Evergreen, Swan River,
W. Glacier, Ronan, Whitefish, and C.Falls attended the World Languages Collaboration Day on Dec. 9th. It was a very productive and relevant day of professional sharing in their job-alike roles. We will keep the shared documents open for editing for those who attended and anyone else who would like to be added to them.

Designed to Learn Book Study
This three-part book study is open to all educators. We will read and discuss the recent ASCD publication Designed to Learn: Using Design Thinking to Bring Purpose and Passion to the Classroom, by Lindsay Portnoy.
Register by Fri. Jan. 17th to receive a free copy of the book. Three (3) PIR/OPI hours are available per session (two for attending and one for outside reading); for a total of nine (9) hours.
