Jay Shideler Kindergarten Bootcamp

July 20, 21, 22; 27, 28, and 29

What is Bootcamp?

Your child's transition to Jay Shideler can begin with Kindergarten Bootcamp! For two weeks, students will use concepts of literacy to focus on their kindergarten readiness skills in nine different areas. Skills will include self-help, social-emotional, visual, verbal, language development, listening, work habits, gross motor and fine motor skills.

Kindergarten boot camp will be taught by Jay Shideler’s kindergarten teachers: Mrs. Makowski, Mrs. Dalrymple, Mrs. Harman, and Ms. Thompson. The lessons are designed to meet the needs of all students. Daily activities will include exploration, math and reasoning, art and creativity, reading and language development, and team building. Future Blue Jays will become familiar with the school environment and expectations.

When is it?

During the last two weeks of July, you may select a morning or afternoon session for your child to attend. Bootcamp is on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

Dates: July 20, 21, 22; 27, 28, and 29

*Limited spots at each session.

Kindergarten teacher assignments and class Lists are shared later than 1st through 6th graders. This information is used to create balanced classrooms so we can provide the best learning opportunity possible for each student.

1st Day of School for Kindergarten Students

One way we are supporting our future Blue Jays is by starting kindergarten a few days later than the rest of the student body.
