Connection Point Newsletter
September 30, 2022
Greetings from Pastor John
Hi Church
We are entering into a new stage of the book of Exodus where God gives instructions to Moses about the building of the tabernacle. This week we will be looking through Exodus 25-31, where the instructions are given to build the tabernacle and anoint the priests. We will see how the Old Testament tabernacle points to the God who tabernacled with us, Jesus.
See you Sunday!
John
Prayer and Praise
Sept 28-Oct 5, 2022
■ Pray for the Bryant family as they celebrate Paul’s life and mourn his loss. Praise the Lord that our missionary, Jess, is able to travel home safely from Japan to be with the family.
■ Pray for Steve and Cindy Sherman as they attend to her parents’ health needs and help them settle into life in New England.
■ Pray for all the victims of hurricanes Fiona and Ian in Puerto Rico, FL, and eastern Canada. Pray for the local churches as they provide Gospel Light in their messages this weekend. Pray also for Christian ministries as they meet the needs of these families.
■ Praise the Lord for safe travel for Sophia Gotta’s trip to Montana to begin her discipleship training with YWAM (Youth With a Mission).
■ Pray for the Cambodian Church as they gather again downstairs for Sunday morning worship. Pray for their Gospel witness to the Cambodian community.
■ Praise the Lord for those who have completed the 100 day reading of the Torah (Genesis thru Deuteronomy).
■ Praise the Lord that Dawn Mattera’s Love From Above Ministry was able to provide $5,000 worth of supplies deep into Ukraine recently. Pray for Dawn as she completes her 3rd month of ministry in Romania. Pray for a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia.
■ Pray for our church finances,,, that our income will improve to match our budget.
■ Praise the Lord for all the FAC ministries that have been highlighted in our Sunday services.
•Why do you think the next generation of Israelites forgot about God?
•Why did God keep rescuing the Israelites again and again?
Because we have been forgiven of our rebellion through Christ, we identify and resist the prevailing idolatries in our society so that we may live as a peculiar people, supporting our proclamation of the gospel.
• HEAD: What are some ways you can remind yourself of the foolishness of sin and idolatry?
• HEART: What sins do you need to confess so God’s compassion—rather than His anger— is kindled?
• HANDS: How will you live “distinctly” this week? Who will you tell about Jesus?
