"Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one."
What Will We Be Learning This Week?
Math
Students have tested on Fractions and we have begun our unit on Decimals. Students are learning how to read and write decimals. Students will be learning that decimals can be written in Mixed Number form and that, as with fractions, decimals represent a part of a whole.
Reminder: Students are encouraged to make corrections on math assignments. If a student correctly fixes his/her mistakes on ANY math assignment, he/she will earn 1/2 points back. Turn an 80% into a 90% while you learn from your mistakes!
Science
Students are busy observing and recording the properties of minerals in their Mineral Field Guides. Most recently, students have looked at the properties of 'Streak Color' and their ability to transmit light.
Language Arts
We will continue reading the same books in our guided reading books where we will continue analyzing the main characters.
Social Studies
We will not have an NC Studies Weekly assignment this week to allow students with missing assignments the opportunity to catch up.
Don't forget that any missing NC Studies Weekly assignments are due by Monday, March 25 for credit.
