Course Description
Have you ever had stage fright? Then this course is for you! Although it may seem to come naturally to some people, public speaking is actually a skill that can be learned. Corporate Training Representatve with Lone Star College will provide the techniques to prepare you mentally and physically so that you can feel comfortable—or even enjoy—delivering your message to an audience.
This two-hour session will introduce participants to strategies and techniques for improving public speaking skills in informal situations. It will help participants lay the foundation for building confidence in interacting with others, speaking in informal situations, and presenting in front of small groups.
Course Competencies:
By the end of the course, participants will:
- Speak with more confidence in one-on-one conversations
Feel more confident speaking in social and small-group settings
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will have the tools to:
- Identify and address barriers to communication
Explain the seven skills of a good speaker
Control physical and mental nervousness
