Warren School
Regional School District No. 6
Progress Reports Update from Superintendent Drapp:
In my meetings with parents, I often hear frustration about the district’s elementary school progress report. Based on your feedback, I want to work with you to make the elementary progress report a useful tool for parents, students, and teachers, I will continue to gather your feedback through surveys and focus groups that will be facilitated by an outside consultant. Parents will be invited to participate in the focus groups once I have a timeline of when the consultant with begin this critical work.
Notwithstanding the above, as a result of the initial feedback I received from Region 6 families, there is one immediate change to the progress report that will go into effect for this school year. Student progress indicators will communicate your child's performance for the current trimester versus progress toward the end-of-year standard.
In the short term, I feel this approach will provide a clearer understanding of your child's progress. I truly value your input and look forward to the work ahead that will support the development of an effective tool to meaningfully communicate student learning.
Sincerely,
Edward Drapp
Superintendent
Principal's Message for November 12, 2015
Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
Thank you to all of the Veterans and friends who participated in the Veterans Day luncheon on Tuesday afternoon. Students shared songs, poems, and letters of gratitude for our Veterans' dedication and service. A delicious turkey lunch was shared by all.
School Photos
A flyer with directions for viewing and ordering school pictures will be sent home tomorrow, November 13th.
STAR Reports
Our fall STAR testing is complete. When your child returns home from school on Friday of this week, you should receive a parent letter(s) that communicates your child's most recent results. Please be on the lookout for the envelope in your child's backpack.
Staff Update
Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Kathi Brown, who will return to working in the school library, replacing Mr. Wayne Prescott who is now at Wamogo. Mrs. Brown will continue to work with the Early Primary Class in the morning, but will spend every afternoon working with students in the school library. Mrs. Brown has plenty of creative ideas, and is sure to generate a lot of enthusiasm and love for reading and the makerspace every single day!
I am also pleased to announce that Mrs. Ashley Johnson has joined our staff as a math specialist two days per week.

As Warren School prepares to go back to its roots next year, with a multi-age experience in every classroom, it is time to reflect upon who we are as a school community - past, present, and future. Warren School will always be known as a great place for children to learn and grow. The green W is and always will represent the Harvest of Dreams garden. It remains in the hearts of everyone at Warren School. However, now it is time to ask the children and the Warren School community to select a logo design that will represent our school as we transition into the future as a full multi-age community.
Students in the Upper Blended, 5th, and 6th grade classes were invited to create an idea for the logo. Mrs. Laurie Sweet and Mr. John Daudelin met with students to discuss famous logos, and how they have evolved over time to reflect the changing organizations. Students were asked to draw design ideas that may continue to be refined over time. You can see the top seven choices above. We invite you to vote for your favorite design. The winner will work with Mr. Daudelin to refine the design even further, and to turn the artwork into a professional graphic. The new logo will be used for various purposes. In December, the Friends of Warren School will offer clothing for sale with the new design.
