Virtual Meet the Teacher

On Tuesday, September 28th JPI Teachers and the Administration held our annual Meet The Teacher and Curriculum evening. We are so grateful for our parents' engagement and interest in their children's education.

Thank you to our amazing staff who work hard to maintain relationships with our families and continue to build a welcoming and safe JPI learning community.

Below You will find the Parent Guide to Assessment and Reporting Document. Please click on the image below to get more information.

Assessment and Reporting

In Edmonton Catholic Schools, we report to parents and students on an ongoing basis. Gone are the days when parents and students would have to wait for a report card to come out just three times a year. We use a gradebook program that integrates with PowerSchool, called PowerTeacher Pro, into which teachers input assessment information as it happens. Parents and students are encouraged to check PowerSchool “Grades and Attendance” regularly to keep up to-date on student progress. If your child is on an individualized program plan, please check the IPP for updates regarding student progress.

My Child's Learning: A Parent Resource

We recognize that parents play an important role in shaping the way their children view learning. As a parent, you understand more than anyone else how your child learns and processes information. This resource will provide you with a better understanding of Alberta’s curriculum and related information for your child. This tool can help you discover what your child is learning, how they’re assessed and what resources are available to help them be successful from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

This resource also contains information on the variety of educational choices you have for your child.

To learn more, click on your child’s grade at the top of this page and open the door.
