Leaders UK acts as an Awarding Organisation providing qualifications for everyone who wants to take part.

This offers progression from Level 1 (age 13+) to Level 3 (age 16+), enabling Sports Leaders to expand their knowledge and qualifications year on year. This means that anyone between the ages of 13+ can get qualifications to work as a sports leader.

Sports leadership courses with the community

The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Volunteering is a nationally recognised qualification for learners who are aged 16 years and over and who wish to develop their volunteering skills.

The aim of the qualification is to prepare learners for volunteering, giving the learner the skills required to help within a volunteer workforce. The learner is assessed on their understanding and their ability to carry out a volunteer role within a sporting and/or recreational activity.

The learner does not have to have sporting aptitude to complete this qualification as it will be their volunteering skills, not their sporting ability, that will be assessed.
