March is a special month for the students at Stevenson Elementary School. The administration and staff have kicked off March is Reading Month with many exciting activities in this first week of March!
Many more activities are being planned to promote literacy and encourage our Stevenson scholars to read every day!
A few of these activities are highlighted below:
- Monday, February 28th, kicked off March is Reading Month with many virtual Guest Readers lined up for the month of March at Stevenson. The United Way sent home March is Reading month kits and posters for classes to promote reading EVERY DAY!
- Tuesday, March 1st - We were pleased to have our wonderful Superintendent, Dr. Jennifer Green, grace us by visiting our school and helping us kick off March is Reading Month with a warm greeting and visitation to all of our classrooms to promote Reading Month at Stevenson. Students were also able to share their Black History Month projects with Dr. Green in many classrooms. Needless to say, Dr. Green was very impressed with our scholars and the hard work that was put into making our Black History Month projects amazing!

- Please don't forget to ask your young scholar about the beautiful classroom doors and corridors of Stevenson that have been decorated to represent Black History Month, March is Reading Month, and Women's History Month!!
YES...there are many exciting activities still being planned for our Stevenson scholars this month to encourage literacy and academic enrichment.
Parents, please continue to support your child by encouraging daily reading, Reading Logs, Reading calendars, and a variety of other opportunities to highlight the importance of reading and literacy with your scholars.
