Nutrition Instructor
Job Description: A contract position to redevelop, teach and mark a Nutrition course that fulfills MTCU requirements to approximately fifty first year students. This course should emphasize healthy eating and good gastronomy, and address dietary restrictions commonly encountered in the restaurant industry, in addition to meeting ministry-mandated requirements. This course meets once a week for 3 hours, over an eight-week period beginning in January.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
· Registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
· Completion of Dietitians of Canada Accredited Internship or Practicum Programs
· Bachelor Degree of Science in Nutrition or equivalent
Experience
· Teaching, preferably at post-secondary level
· Experience in a professional kitchen or food production facility
Skills
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
· Ability to engage students and interest them in a topic that is not their main focus of study
· Ability to work both as part of an inter-professional team and independently
· Commitment to students, and to the values of the Stratford Chefs School

Program Manager
Pastry Teaching Assistant
The Stratford Chefs School offers an enriched two-year post-secondary program for student chefs. The school year runs for 16 weeks from late-October to early March. Practical courses are taught by industry professionals; other courses are taught by experts in related fields.
Job Description: A four-month part-time contract position to assist the senior pastry instructor during first- and second-year pastry classes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
· Stratford Chefs School diploma preferably, or degree or diploma from a culinary program
Experience
· Significant pastry experience
Skills
· Expertise as a pastry chef
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to engage students and provide one on one coaching
· Ability to work as part of a team
· High level of professionalism
Other

Program Manager
Purchasing Coordinator
The Stratford Chefs School offers an enriched two-year post-secondary program for apprentice chefs. Each school year consists of two eight-week semesters, October-December and January-March. Cookery courses are taught by industry professionals; academic courses are taught by experts in related fields.
Job Description: A contract position to purchase all food, cleaning supplies and paper goods for the Stratford Chefs School as required, within the confines of the school-approved budget. The Purchasing Coordinator collects and creates (as necessary) all purchase orders for classes, labs and events, ensuring that there is adequate product on the day, and at the time, for which they were ordered. The Purchasing Coordinator is furthermore responsible for receiving, storing and organizing orders, as well as maintaining the refrigerators, freezers and dry-goods storage areas to the specification of the school.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
· Stratford Chefs School diploma preferably, or degree or diploma from a culinary program
Experience
· Significant culinary experience
· Experience sourcing and ordering product for a foodservice operation
Skills
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrated organizational ability
· Ability to establish priorities while multi-tasking, and work independently with minimal supervision
· Demonstrated food knowledge
· Demonstrated facility with spreadsheets
· Safe Food Handler’s Certificate, or equivalent
· Valid Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s Licence
· Commitment to students, and to the values of the Stratford Chefs School
