Bell PTA Hosts Pastries with Parents
We can't wait to see you this Friday, March 23rd, for a come-and-go event to honor YOU from 7:30 AM - 8:15 AM in your child's classroom. Pastries and drink will be provided for parents. Parking will be available in the front parking lot (staff will park in the back lot to give visitors more parking opportunities up front). With 810 students and families, parking will be a challenge. If you are able to walk to Bell or carpool, that would be helpful! We look forward to seeing you Friday!

Treat Others with Respect
Building character is important to us at Bell Elementary! We believe in our students and want them to have the opportunity to grow in their character as well as in their academics. This includes helping students learn about their strengths and how they contribute to their classroom and school with those strengths, building problem solving skills, and practicing skills such as kindness, conflict resolution, forgiveness, resilience, goal setting, leading by example, helpfulness, and more!
Our sixth core value is "Treat Others With Respect". During the month of March we will learn about how we can respect ourselves, others, and our school environment.
This conversation will start on daily morning announcements with a quote about character and a daily challenge to staff and students given by Mrs. Shapiro. Please help us at home by sharing ways you show respect!
A few quotes we will use to help spring conversation with students include:
- Please and thank you are still magic words.
- "A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss
- Leave everything a little better than you found it.
- "One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say." - Bryan H. McGill
- "I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university." - Albert Einstein
- "Treat people exactly as you would like to be treated by them." -Golden Rule
- "Differences were meant not to divide but to enrich." - J.H. Oldham
- "A fruit salad is delicious precisely because each fruit maintains its own flavor." - Sean Covey
We will continue to focus on being 212 throughout the school year and how our core values feed into this.
"At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And with steam, you can power a train. Just one extra degree makes all the difference." -Sam Parker, 212 the extra degree
