The Hypocrisy of American Slavery
Are these great rights of political Freedom and justice, epitomized in The Declaration of Independence, extended to my people? We should hold these truths to be obvious that all men are created equal and are made by their creator with certain rights that can not be taken away, that among these rights are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These rights are not being extended to African Americans. When this country was created it was meant to be a place where everyone could have freedom and have the same rights as each other. These rights have most definitely been taken away and change is greatly needed. Our country will become just like Babylon, a nation of crimes, discrimination and injustice that eventually led to downfall and destruction because of the bad habit such as its discrimination crimes and etc. Our country will become just like this and will collapse with great shame if we do not stop discriminating. Why should me and my people celebrate The Fourth of July. The Fourth of July is supposed to be to celebrate the independence and freedom that our country has but I am not free so why should me and my people celebrate the Fourth of July? It’s quite Ironic. The Declarations of Independence, The Constitution, etc are all documents that are supposed to deliver liberty, freedom and justice in our country so why do we have slavery if this is the case? So why should us African Americans celebrate the Fourth of July. The Fourth of July is not really a day to celebrate the independence and freedom in America, it is a day to look at what America could be and what is has become. We can not be a Country if we are divided by race.
