INVITATION FROM TWICE

Participation in this program is FREE!

“Holiday Hoopla!” is sponsored by TWICE (Two Way Interactive Connections in Education) and is a great opportunity on for classrooms across the country! Students in Kindergarten thru eighth grade students will meet others in a collaborative way to share how holidays are celebrated around the world.

This program sponsored by TWICE is similar to “Read Across the Planet.” Classrooms will be paired throughout the United States to collaborate. Once classrooms have been matched by TWICE, cancellations and/or rescheduling dates and times should be avoided except in the case of school closures, or unexpected teacher emergencies, etc. The GenNET/Genesee ISD video team staff will work with teachers involved for a successful ITV connection for everyone.

HOLIDAY SNOWMAN SWAP: Kindergarten thru 3rd Grade

In this 60-minute program, two classrooms across the county, or across the country, will be paired together. Both classrooms choose one holiday tradition that they would like to learn more about (e.g. Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year, Boxing Day, Noel, etc.). Each class will exchange that information with their partner classroom teacher. Next, each class will create a snowman representing the holiday tradition chosen by each collaborating classroom. The snowman can even include three different traditions that go along with their on the three snowman's body parts. When the classrooms meet via live, interactive video in their GenNET ITV rooms (as a video-conference event) each will share their snowman and the holiday tradition that goes with it.
