GOOGLE UPDATE RESTRICTIONS FOR 4K-12 ACCOUNTS

As of September 1, Google changed their access to some of their Google services for all 4K-12 education Google accounts. Students in FPS started to see the effects of these new restrictions this week. Google has implemented these restrictions to protect student privacy and security and to restrict content designated as over 18.

The new restrictions enforces Google's Safe Search feature and limits YouTube access to videos categorized for education and appropriate for under 18. More details from Google can be found here.

VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS IN SCHOOLS

In regards to visitors or volunteers, any person entering any school building during the school day when children are present for school is required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Masks should be worn at all times when in the building, and the visitor/volunteer should limit direct contact with others and maintain social distance (6 feet or more) when able.

Visitors and volunteers who are outdoors during the school day where students are present are required to wear a mask unless they have been vaccinated. Visitors or volunteers in the building after school, in locations where students are not present, are not required to wear a mask.

MESSAGE FROM PV'S PE TEAM

Friendly reminder from your PE teachers to make sure that your student/s are wearing or bringing tennis shoes to school on PE days. Crocs, flip flops, and slides should be left at home or changed on those days. When the weather changes, winter boots should be changed before coming to class as well. Also, if your student struggles with laces, please consider sending them with velcro or slip-on shoes. Thank you!

Thank you to those of you who have shared a picture of your student/s being active outside of school (this is a “before” picture, there are some great photos on the board now)! If you have not, please consider sending in a picture to have posted! It can be printed and dropped off to Mr. Morrissey, or emailed to anthony.morrissey@franklin.k12.wi.us.
