Mid Term Project Due Today!

Submit Your Mid Term Project Today

Prior to submitting your Mid Term Project, please carefully review the rubric (link below) to ensure your project meets all the requirements to help maximize your score.

Click Here for the Mid Term Project Rubric

Before submitting your mid term project, check the rubric to be sure your project meets all the requirements so you can maximize your score.

Remember to Site Your Sources!

If you are using photos you found on the internet for your project, you must cite your sources! You will lose a lot of points if you don't do this so please remember your citations.

If you hate creating citations, you can avoid having to do this by taking your own photos or drawing your own pictures! I love photography and all kinds of artwork - even stick figures! Be creative, have fun and really make your project your own by using your own materials. ^_^

Today is the last day of live coaching sessions for this 9 weeks

Any missed coaching sessions can be made up today for full credit. You can make up missed sessions with any coach at any time coaching is being offered. You can attend multiple sessions per day if needed. Check the schedule below and find a time that works for you to attend a make up session.

Lesson 2 Sample Slide

Here is Tanaka san's slide from Lesson 2. Click the Voki link below to hear her read the lines.

Let's look at what Tanaka san said line by line:

まいあさ、ごぜんろくじはんにおきます。

Every morning I wake up at 6:30AM.

うちであさごはんをたべます。

At home I eat breakfast.

あさごはんにくだものとシリアルをたべます。

For breakfast I eat fruit and cereal.

そして、しちじにがっこうにいきます。

And then, at 7:00 I go to school.

This is a great slide because it features grammar and vocabulary from lesson 2 and has four complete and accurate sentences with a picture and audio recording to accompany it.

Notice how the picture used here only incorporates one aspect of something said on this slide. That is OK! :D

As long as the picture makes sense based on something in the slide, the picture is appropriate. This picture of fruit and cereal works well here. So would a picture of someone waking up, or someone going to school. A picture of a velociraptor driving a golf cart would not work here. Please keep this in mind when selecting pictures. ^_^

St. Patrick's Day in Japan

St. Patrick's Day is not a traditional Japanese holiday. However, some Japanese have embraced the holiday and its festivities. The link below talks about the holiday's presence in Japan and the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Tokyo for anyone who is interested. My ancestors came to the United States from Ireland and I love seeing this fun and unique celebration of Ireland gaining popularity in Japan. :)
