Traditions
Evangel has there traditional football games. There football games are more than watching the game though, they have contest and competitions. Karaoke and talent shows are often available while football season is continuing. Classroom visits from alumni, special chapel services, and the big homecoming game, where they crown their homecoming King and Queen at halftime. Another traditions that Evangel has is, its HarvestFest. Its a student-produced variety show sponsored by Activites Board each fall. Each year, HarvestFest features a new theme and students are invited to wear costumes that fit that theme.
HarvestFest
two students are dressed up in their gear and enjoying the games HarvestFest allows students to do. Although the costumes aren't required to have a great time, Most couples find a way to capture the spirit of the theme with a unique flair. One Harvestfest tradition is for men to think of a creative way to ask for a date, but the twist is that a simple "yes" from the lucky lady isn't enough. Either way, HarvestFest is not an event exclusively for couples. Most people who attend HarvestFest simgly go to have fun with floormates and friends.
Homecoming
The Homecoming queen and king are elected during the homecoming football game. Homecoming at EU isnt just a time when alumni and old friends descend on campus for a weekend of special events. The students elect their candidates homecoming queen and king. During half time, they announce the winners.
Spring Fling
Spring Fling is another traditions Evangel has. Spring Fling is the spring semester's version of HarvestFest. Its like a talent show with acting and drama. As homecoming shifted to the fall in the 1960s to acommodate football, the spring event became as Spinster's Spree andadopted the tradition of girls asking guys, which is still a popular part of Spring Fling each year.
fashion fever
Another Tradition is Fashion Fever. Fashion Fever is an annual--and highly-anticipated--women's-only fashion show. Fashion Fever brings together women across campus and reinforces the importance of having a positive self-image. The focus is on helping women find identity in Christ rather than basing it on expectations of society.
