Kindergarten Registration
The online kindergarten registration process for the 2023-2024 school year is now open. Completion of the registration process includes a mandatory in-person screening at your rising kindergartener's school on Thursday, April 13, 9AM-7PM. For more information, click here.
GCPS Fine Arts Festival

GCPS Health & Wellness Night
Save the date! GCPS will be hosting a health and wellness family night on May 10th from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at the GHS stadium. This event will feature a color run, a bouncy house & games, face painting, food trucks and more! Local businesses and agencies will also be on site to provide information on the resources they provide. All families are invited to attend. We hope to see you there!
Love & Logic Parenting Classes
Love & Logic is an interactive parenting workshop hosted by the Goochland Department of Social Services. In this workshop, parents will learn to set enforceable limits with their children, avoid un-winnable power struggles, guide children to own and solve their own problems and much more.
The next session of Love & Logic parenting classes will run on Tuesdays from May 11, 2023, through June 8, 2023, 5:30-7:30 pm. Classes will be held in the Goochland County Administration building, and there will be snacks and drinks. To register email Ashton at agruszecki@goochlandva.us or call Goochland DSS at 804-556-4880 and ask for Ashton. There is no cost to register.

Preschool Applications
Goochland County Public Schools offers preschool programs at each of its three elementary schools. We are currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. You can learn more about our program offerings and apply here.

Comfort Zone Camp
Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c)3 bereavement organization that works with children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or significant person. The programs are free of charge and include trust-building activities and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone offers programs to children ages 7-17 and their families for the family programs. Additionally, they offer young adult programs for 18-25-year-olds.

Virtual Family Assistance Center
Looking for support with food or clothing for your family? Do you need assistance locating community and mental health resources? Goochland Schools is working with various organizations to provide our families in need with school supplies, food, clothing, and other needs. Click here for more information.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings
Youth Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses. The training teaches necessary skills to provide initial help and support to those developing a mental health problem or experiencing a crisis.
Members of the GCPS mental health team are offering free trainings to any Goochland resident on March 20th and April 10th (10:00am-4:00pm) at the secondary complex. If you would like to sign up please reach out to Danielle Bettin (dbettin@glnd.k12.va.us) or Ashley Lawson (alawson@glnd.k12.va.us).
