Health Updates: Attention Juniors (Class of 2020)

In accordance with state requirements in Missouri, every 12th grade student is required to obtain the MCV4 vaccine prior to the start of their senior year. The deadline to turn in immunizations will be May 24th, 2019.

Any student that does not have their immunization updated at the time of schedule pick up will not be able to receive their schedule. It is recommended that students complete this update early in order to avoid any issues at schedule pick up and any potential shortages in the supply of the vaccine that may occur immediately prior to the start of the school year.

Please make your appointment early and send a copy to the school before the end of this year. Please be sure that paperwork includes the name of the provider/signature and that is specifies what type of meningitis vaccine was given (there is more than one). You may need to bring a copy of your student's current immunizations to the appointment. You may access your student's immunizations through the Tyler Parent Portal. Simply click on "health" and then print the immunizations. Students may also obtain a copy through the clinic at school. Please feel free to contact Mrs. McKinney at 636-443-4103 with any questions.

EOC's are Coming!!

The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) End - of-Course (EOC) Assessments evaluate student's progress toward the Missouri Learning Standards. EOC Assessments provide important information that contributes to decisions concerning individual students, groups of students, and educational programs. Students are tested in Algebra I, Algebra II, English II, Government, and Biology. The testing window at SCH is April 29- May 7th. We will be sharing more information as we get closer to this window.

After School Procedures

In order to maintain safety and security after the school day, students are reminded that they should not remain in the building after school hours unless they are visiting with a classroom teacher, participating in a club/activity, or waiting for an after school practice. Unfortunately, we do have a number of students that are unsupervised after school and have to be reminded that they should exit the building at the end of the school day. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this request, please feel free to contact your students's administrator.

Chromebook Reminders

As a reminder, please be sure to remind your student to charge their Chromebook for regular use in the classroom. We are seeing an increase in the number of students coming to class without their Chromebook or without their Chromebook adequately charged for class. As a one-on-one school, students are expected to have a device. If for some reason your son or daughter does not have their device, we do have Chromebooks that can be checked out from the library. However, this should be reserved for rare occasions when a device is left at home, etc. Having to check out a Chromebook on a regular basis takes time away from class and often creates difficulty for both students and staff. Please remember that if a student decided not to accept a Chromebook from the school district, that student is still expected to come to class prepared with an adequate alternative device (which does not include a cell phone). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your students administrator. Thank you!
