Yankee Swap Rules
- Bring a gift if you want to participate.
- Your gift must be a "mathom". See below.
- Wrap it fabulously.
We'll draw numbers for who goes first and first person gets to choose any gift, open it, and show the crowd. Number two has the option of taking that gift, or opening any other gift. Number three has the option of taking either gift one or two, or opening any other gift. And so on and so on. After the last person goes, the first person gets to exercise their right to choose any gift, or keep the one s/he has.
"It was a tendency of hobbit-holes to get cluttered up; for which the custom of giving so many birthday-presents was largely responsible. Not, of course, that the birthday-presents were always new; there were one or two old mathoms of forgotten uses that had circulated all around the district; but Bilbo had usually given new presents and kept those that he received."
