Childhood Memory

The earliest thing I can remember from my childhood is getting lost for my first time. I was about four years old when this happened, although it may seem like I would’ve been terrified, I was actually the opposite, surprisingly I was quite calm not knowing what I was doing, but I knew I was on my own.

It all started in the morning when my mom was getting ready to go to work. My dad was in the other room dead asleep, probably from the results of the night before; he had a rough night. When my mom was gone, it was about thirty minutes after, that’s when I made my way for the door. I was just curious of where my mom was going and soon enough I was already in the street, almost to the corner of the street. Of course I wasn’t in the middle of the road, I knew well enough to be to the side. I walked for about five minutes on the street.

That was until the nearby daycare saw me and came after me. I was already so confused, but a lady picked me up and took me inside and started asking me questions like, What’s your name? and Where are your parents? And so I answered and told them my name and who my mom was, and right there, the lady recognized the name. Back then we lived in a small town, so basically everybody knew everybody. So the lady knew where my mom worked and immediately called her. When had told my mom everything that happened, my mom rushed to the daycare and picked me up.

I could see my mom crying and I didn’t really understand why, because I didn’t think what I did was so bad, but I ended up hugging my mom and telling her I was sorry. She wasn’t mad at me or anything, she was just really scared and happy that I was ok. After that she just took me to her job for the rest of the day and watched me.

Look well to this day,

For it and it alone is life.

In its brief course

Lie all the essence of your existence:

The Glory of Growth

The Satisfaction of Achievement

The Splendor of Beauty

For yesterday is but a dream,

And tomorrow is but a vision.

But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,

And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

I feel the love that everyone shows at the funeral. I can see them crying and sobbing, wishing that my time hadn’t come now. It’s a strange feeling, to see and experience this, something of which I have never felt. It’s not a good feeling but it’s not a bad one either. I’m sort of neutral, until I feel this light, this amazing beam of light, that is full of joy, peace, and love. Lots and lots of love. Never before have I experienced this sort of love. Then a hand coming out of the beam of light, reaches out towards coffin, I look at it and reach my hand out to it. It pulls me up and all I can see is the beautiful light, and I slowly start to feel all the pain I've ever felt just disappear. All of a sudden I stop and see the outline of what I have hoped and believed in all my life. He says my name and I look and all I can feel is this amazing love being brought unto me. He then explains to me why my time was now and that the people that I love and care for will be comforted. It’s nothing but amazement to me, it feels like a dream but it’s not. This is everything I have lived for. He takes me into the clouds and I see these huge gates, they open and I then enter. I see my old relatives and they tell me they’ve waited so long to see me, I feel so loved and full of joy. When I go to lay on a cloud, the soft touch it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before, and finally I am at peace.

Get Away Place

This special place that I think about when I just want to get away from everything for a little, Is the same place I plan on leaving in. This place is California, I fell in love with this state ever since I went on vacation to long beach CA. The beach, the mountains, the people, and even the atmosphere was just perfect to me, everything about it caught my attention. I was only there for just a week but that’s all it took for me to decide that I wanted to go back live my life there. I went the summer of 2014 with my family to go visit family, even the road trip there was super fun and one of my best experiences because I had never seen mountains before and that’s all you see when traveling through there. So now when I feel like nothing's going right for me I just sit and think of the being on that warm beach with the breathtaking view, I truly feel at peace when I think of being at that place. That is why I have set myself this goal and motivated myself of moving there as I get older. I know this won’t be easy but I know if I really want it and believe in myself I will make it happen.

I Am

I am blessed and grateful

I wonder where I will be in 10 years

I hear people telling me “you can’t”

I see myself accomplishing everything

I want to be on the beach

I am blessed and grateful

I pretend I live in paradise

I feel the water on my feet

I touch the warm sand

I worry about my family

I cry when I fail at something I tried so hard for

I am blessed and grateful

I understand that there will be hard times in life

I say “I know I can”

I dream about California

I try my best to make others smile

I hope the best for my future family

I am blessed and grateful

Something I always wanted to be

Ever since I was a little boy around the age of seven, I always had a dream of becoming a professional soccer player. That dream started because I moved to Dallas TX and lived in a neighborhood where all they did was play soccer all day everyday. When I moved here I had no idea how to play, I was always playing football and baseball and had no experience with a ball at my feet. After a while I got really attached to the sport and surprisingly I was actually decent at the game all the kids wanted me on their teams, not to sound cocky or anything but I was pretty quick with the ball and it seemed to work for me. Soon enough I told my dad that I really wanted to join a soccer team and he was surprised at first cause I never had interest in that but he was excited because he too as a kid played soccer, so next day he took me to register for a team. So soon enough I was in a team where I met some pretty cool people and learned more about the sport. During middle school when soccer season came I tried out and made it, When high school came I also made the team, and over the years I just progressed and fell deeply in love with the sport, it also introduced me to the friends I am really close to now. From then to now I still play soccer and I have yet to give up on that dream, I just do what I do and just wait patiently for my opportunity. Until then I still have work to do in bettering myself and continue progressing in my game. The dream is still alive.

I love a lonely winding road

That takes me where I cannot see

Until each softly rounded hill

Reveals its landscaped mystery.

Where nature's stage creates the plot,

What ever the scene may be.

I love the crocus call in spring,

The first to wake from winter's sleep.

Translucent bits of ivory joy,

So patient under snow banks deep,

'Til they can lift each star like face

And proudly nature's rhythm keep.

I love the fiery autumn hues,

Too harsh to bear in gentle spring

But welcomed by the strident wind

That makes the mighty pine tree sing,

Freeing the crimson leaves that dance

Like bright birds, high on wing.

I love the wonders of this world,

The secrets nature guards so well

From those who have no time to spend,

Who will not lift the ocean's shell

And listen to the murmured tale

That each one has to tell.
