Third Graders Hit the Oregon Trail
The third graders will be hitting the Oregon Trail on May 11th. We will truly be living a day in the life of a pioneer. They will enjoy the trail, games, chores, and food from that time period. Thank you for all the donated items that are making this day possible!
Fourth Graders take a "Road Trip"
Fourth Grade is excited about our Reading Road Trip on May 13th where we will trek across the state of Alabama participating in various exciting activities. Each activity is based on the resources, people, or achievements for which the city is known. We have worked very hard on all of our literature projects and assignments, and we can’t wait to see our school transformed into eleven top cities in Alabama. Thank you to all the parents that have donated items. We do still need items if you are willing and able to help.

Make Sure Your Child is Registered for 2016-2017
To register online go to:
choose For Parents
choose On line registration
choose Returning students
Parents will need a snapcode to start the process. You should have received an email from Charlene Thomas with the snapcode in it. If you can’t find it, please call our school office at 334-887-1970 to get it.
You will be asked to download 2 proofs of residency (details about what you can submit is on the Auburn Schools' webpage). If you are unable to submit the documents online, you can send them to school, and our office will scan/download them for you. You can also email or send a picture of the documents from your phone to Mrs. Terhune in the front office at ywterhune@auburnschoools.org. Thanks for helping us plan for homerooms next year by registering ASAP.
Notes from Nurse Julia
If your child has medications at school, please pick them up by 12pm, Friday, May 20th.
Medications are not held over the summer and will be donated to a medical mission organization if they are not picked up.
If your child will need medication at school next year, don’t forget to request the parent provider authorization (PPA) form from their provider during the summer.
Reminders:
A PPA must be completed for all medications.
Only a 30 day supply of medication may be kept at school.
All over the counter medications must be in unopened bottles and age appropriate.
If the medication is a prescription, the prescriber must complete the PPA and the medication must be in the original container with the prescription label.
The complete ACS medication policy can be found on page 52-53 of the Pupil Progression Planner.
You may bring medications and forms, or discuss your child’s health care needs with me, beginning on August 3rd. Please call for an appointment.
Parents of rising 6th graders: don’t forget to get your child a Tdap booster and updated certificate of immunization prior to the start of the 2016-17 school year.
