Message from the District Administrator
Last month the Board of Education adopted a new Vision and Mission statement for the district. Here they are:
- The vision of the KSD is to be an exceptional place to learn and work where students and staff are equipped with the academic, social-emotional, and work skills to meet the challenges of their diverse futures and reach their full potential.
- The mission of the KSD is to maximize its resources and assets to provide responsive instruction, foster strong relationships, engage the community, and model high expectations.
We use this Mission and Vision as guideposts to the strategic plans and decisions we make. To give just one example, the Board of Education approved a new Emergency Response Technician (EMT) course for our high school students next year. Courses like this one not only have high levels of academic expectations, it is filled with opportunities for students to learn how to respond calmly to emergency situations, be prepared to help others, and equip our future citizens with the skills they need to give back to the community.
You can see how this one decision fits into multiple levels of the Kewaskum Vision and Mission, and it is a great example of how the School District uses the Mission and Vision to better serve our students, families, staff, and community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mark Bazata
District Administrator

Board Business - Just the Facts
Recognition
NHS induction took place on Monday, November 22. This prestigious organization welcomed twenty-two new members, and we were able to celebrate their commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The new members inducted into the Kewaskum Chapter of the National Honor Society include Morgan Adams, Ethan Allen, Miranda Bastian, Brianna Boegel, Matthew Buechel, Josey Curtes, Madilyn Dogs, Connor Griesemer, Samantha Kusters, Mikaela Marquardt, Amanda Martin, Lydia Michaels, Natalie Newman, Victoria Quissek, Grace Robinson, Grace Rochon, Megan Roehrig, Kendra Schmitt, Julia Steger, Mackenzie Steiner, Isabelle Thomas, and Sydney Wheaton.
On Saturday, November 20, KHS Key Club brought back the Senior Citizen's Thanksgiving Meal. The meal has several levels of importance. Students are given the opportunity to understand and value developing one's character through service to others and our senior citizen community receives the chance to connect with our students. It was good to see many of our middle school Builders Club members sitting down and talking to our guests. This year, we served 76 in-person meals and provided 14 to-go meals for those that were homebound due to medical issues. We had 25 KHS Key Club Members and approximately 15 KMS Builders Club Members helping out. Special thanks to the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring the meals.
