Golden Time
At our school, we value positive behaviour and wellbeing, and hope to create positive learning environments that encourages each child to be their best selves.
Every 5 weeks, we hold a special event called 'Golden Time' as a way to acknowledge and reward the efforts of our children in promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
God, fill our school with love, truth, joy, forgiveness, and wisdom. May our community be full of hope. Help us to reflect your love every day. Amen.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
Wellness Week
Week 6 of each term is a week when we focus on student and staff wellbeing. We thank Mrs Johnson and Mrs Thomas for arranging some fun activities for both staff and students. While wellness is important every day, this week provides us with an opportunity to really shine a light on our spiritual, mental, social and physical wellbeing. Our students will be engaged in mindfulness practice, physical activities like Jump Jam and team games.
Naplan for Year 3 and Year 5
Next week we keep our Year 3 and 5 students in our prayers as they participate in Naplan testing. The children have been well-prepared and you can support your child if they are in Year 3 or Year 5 by reminding them that all that is expected is for them to try their very best. Naplan is simply one assessment out of many tests that the children take to give us a picture of their progress throughout the year. There is no need for your child to feel stressed by the Naplan tests.
Safe Driving for a Safe Community
Recently, a member of the public brought to our attention that some families at school are engaging in dangerous behaviour by driving over the pedestrian pavement to get onto Girrawheen Avenue, thereby avoiding having to wait for traffic at the Hudson and Girrawheen Avenue intersection. This driving behaviour puts members in our community at serious risk of harm. Rangers have been called to monitor the situation. I remind all families that the safety of our students and families is our top priority and behaviour of this nature will be reported to the relevant authorities.
A challenge for all families on this Wellness Wednesday – make it a Warm a Heart Wednesday, by doing or saying something to your children that shows them just how much you love them.
God commanded us to ‘Love each other as I have loved you’. John 15:12-13
God bless you all.
