Upcoming Events

No School: On Thursday, November 11, there will be no school for students or staff in observation on Veterans Day.

Quarter 1 Report Cards: Quarter 1 grading closes tomorrow, November 5. Report cards will be emailed out next week. We will send a text message following the emailing of report cards.

Half Days/No school: Monday and Tuesday, November 22 & 23 are half days for students. Wednesday, November 24 is a no school day for students and staff.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Conferences will be held on November 22 & 23. Please watch for communication from your child's teacher regarding signing up for a conference time. Please remember that teachers in the middle school have between 50-75 students. Some teachers teach all 120 students in one grade and some teach all 470 in the case of our specials teachers. While every effort is made to meet with all families, there is just not enough time in our scheduled conference slots to do that. Please work cooperatively with your child's teacher to find an appropriate time and way to stay updated on your child's progress.

Items for your attention

COVID reminders: The Middle school has had several positive Covid cases over the last few weeks. We are increasing disfection efforts as well as reminding students about distancing and proper masking & sanitizing. Please continue to be diligent in monitoring your child for symptoms. If symptoms are present, please keep your child home and get them tested before sending them to school.

Busses: Please remind your child to keep their mask on while on the bus as well. Students are sharing seats and very close to one another. While we are keeping some windows open, it is getting colder and hard to do. It is important for students to protect themselves and others while on the bus.

Cold Weather- dress accordingly: Students are outside nearly everyday for recess and/or phys ed. With the dropping weather, it is important that students dress appropriately. This includes hats, gloves, and jackets. We rarely cancel outdoor activities due to cold.

Social Emotional Learning Survey: You should have also received an email from Ms. Paluk regarding our work with Social Emotional Learning. Students in the middle school will be taking the survey over the two weeks. This information will help us know how to better meet our students' Social and Emotional need so that they can better access thier learning.

Character Virtue- Citizenship

This month students will be learning about Citizenship across subject areas in each grade. Each grade will have a book to read related to the virtue of Citizenship and will study the idea in a content area.

Grade 5 will be reading "Carl the Complainer." In history they will discuss how to turn complaints into community action.

We have the following items in lost and found. This is only a small portion of our collection.
