Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
A Message from our Principal
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I hope you had a happy Easter weekend. This morning at our prayer service, the students brought out the “Alleluia’s” that had put away during Lent.
Easter is the singular event which proves that those who trust in God and accept Christ will be raised from the dead.
We resume our weekly School Mass tomorrow.
Thank you for your generosity in your donations of towels. The homeless in East Fort Worth benefitted greatly from these wonderful gifts. What a great lesson to teach our kids about giving to those less fortunate.
Calendar note: Friday, May 3, will be an early dismissal day. On the morning of May 3, we celebrate the Hispanic Culture in our community. The Fiesta Day parties will begin at about 11:30am, followed by Noon dismissal.
We welcome our new principal, Mrs. Ann Walters. She will be here on Wednesday, May 1, and spend a little time during the school day meeting with faculty, staff, and students. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to meet Mrs. Walters the evening of Wednesday, May 1, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. We invite you to please come meet the next principal of Holy Family Catholic School. Mrs. Walters will also join us for Mass on Thursday, May 2.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve

Spirit Games!
COME OUT APRIL 28 TO NOLAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL FOR BBQ COMPETITION!!
As you all know, every year, typically in April, the Diocese teams up with the Stephen Breen Foundation to run Spirit Games up at Nolan Catholic.
This year, due to the construction at Nolan, the original idea of Spirit Games was being postponed until next year.
However, instead of the full fledge carnival and field day, this year we are inviting everyone to a BBQ competition held on April 28!
In order to do so, we will need some BBQ competitors!
We are looking for 12-15 teams, hoping for one representative per school. The teams will be judge on their Brisket, Pork Ribs, and/or Chicken (labeled and/or because each team only needs to submit one of the meats, but can, and is recommended to, submit all three)!
Competitors will be able to arrive by 10 AM on Saturday, April 27 and stay the night at Nolan in order to ensure they are able to get their best results! On April 28, the competition will begin with Mass at 11 AM in the Nolan Catholic Auditorium. Then at Noon, the gates open to the public to come around and try the best BBQ the Diocese has to offer! Judging will begin at 1 PM.
There is no entry fee to compete, but each team will be providing food for all attendees at the event!
It will be $10 a ticket with a $50 max for families when preregistered at www.stephenbreenmemorialfoundation.org.
It will be $15 a ticket with a $50 max for families at the gate at Nolan Catholic.
There will be tables set up for the attendees to sit and enjoy the delicious food; as well as games set up for everyone to enjoy!
If you would like to compete, please email Diocesan Athletic Director Michael Carlson @ mcarlson@fwdioc.org to register. Please forward this on to anyone you would think would like to put a team together!
Hurry! Spots are filling up fast!
FAMILY SERVICE HOUR REQUIREMENT
During each school year, all families are required to perform 30 hours of service for Holy Family Catholic School. All service hours must be recorded within your ParentsWeb account. At this time, all families should review their entries in ParentsWeb for accuracy and update as necessary. On May 6, 2019 the hours will be audited. At this time, an assessment of $10.00 per hour for any hour, or portion thereof, not fulfilled will be posted to your FACTS account. This assessment may be reduced by further serving of volunteer time through the remainder of the school year and recording the hours within your ParentsWeb account. Or, the assessment may be paid in full.
Parents of an 8th grader must fully serve and record their hours or pay for any outstanding balance no later than May 21, 2019. Failure to do so will keep your student from participating in graduation activities and all academic records being held.
Parents of all other students must fully serve and record their hours or pay for any outstanding balance no later than May 29, 2019. Failure to do so will result in all academic records being held and enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year being revoked.
If you have any questions about your hours or any assessment that may be charged contact Tracy Head at busmgr@hfsfw.org.
