Livestock Reminders
Feeder Calves: Must have ID and ear tag by June 15th Livestock Information upon skills learned each week.
Clover Kids: If you are showing a livestock animal at the fair you must have them tagged and animal entry forms in by July 6th. Remember the animal must weigh under 350 lbs to be eligible to show.
For all other 4/H FFA livestock (except horse and market beef) - DNA Envelopes, Breeding Nomination cards, county identification forms, premises ID and copies of registration sheets are due to the extension office by June 15th.

County Fair Pre-Entries Due July 6
4-H’ers bringing exhibit (including animals) to the fair must fill out and return PRE-ENTRY FORMS to the Extension Office by July 6!
Pre-entry forms and instructions were mailed to each family this week. Use the 2018 fair book to complete entry forms. An example is included on the form. Additional sheets are available on the 4-H page at york.unl.edu. If you have questions about filling them out, stop by the office or give us a call.

Nebraska 4-H Online Horticulture Judging Contest
The 2018 Nebraska 4-H Online Horticulture Judging contest is just around the corner. This year the contest will be available from 8:00 am Friday, June 8th through 8:00 am Monday, June 18, 2018. It is composed of three parts; general knowledge questions, plant part and seed identification, as well as a judging portion. It is open to all 4-H youth, as well as adults, and even Extension individuals. No password needed, the link listed below will take you directly to the contest. YQCA - Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (Quality Assurance)
In 2018, all youth ages 8-18 enrolled in any of following animal projects will need to complete YQCA training: • Beef (bucket calf, feeder calf, breeding beef, market beef) • Dairy cattle • Goat (breeding meat goat, dairy goat, meat goat) • Poultry • Rabbit • Sheep (breeding sheep, market sheep) • Swine (breeding swine, market swine)
Youth must be currently enrolled at https://ne.4honline.com
Complete online training at https://yqca.learngrow.io. Cost is $12. For directions and more information, visit https://4h.unl.edu/yqca. Once training is complete, send completed certificates to Tanya Crawford, tanya.crawford@unl.edu or drop off at the Extension Office. If certificates are not submitted, we have no way of knowing if trainings have been completed. No certificate = No Certification
