On The Road to 1:1

We start another year on our path to becoming a 1:1 district by providing all teachers with professional learning and job embedded coaching to successfully launch their 1:1 classrooms. We currently have 61 teachers attending BPS Blended Professional learning where teachers are learning about the components of blended learning including digital workflow, targeting instruction with real-time data, collaboration, and creation.

We are excited to share that eight of our elementary schools will be 1:1 on October 24th. All of our elementary schools will be 1:1 on January 24th, 2020.

Quizlet Live

This is a free, collaborative, formative tool designed to review learning. If you have a slide deck created, in just one click you can turn it into an exciting and competitive game. Students are grouped randomly. Each student is valuable in finding the solution in an environment where teamwork is mandatory. It is simple for students to join the game either by a code or scanning a QR code.

Socrative provides a variety of options for formative assessments. Teachers can create quizzes and exit tickets as a check for understanding. Space race is a fun collaborative way for students to review course content. Students can either play play together by sharing a single device or play together on the same team, but answering on separate devices. All of these activities will provide the teacher with formative data.

Schoology Tip

Individually Assign Folders

Individually Assign Folders - This feature allows teachers to assign folders to specific students and grading groups so that only the assignees can view the folder and its contents. Any materials added to the folder are automatically updated to be available to the assigned student(s). This is a great way to privately differentiate for students.

Hashtags Telling Our Story

One of the most powerful parts of Twitter is the hashtag! It connects people, ideas, and creates communities within Twitter. It is a unique way for our teachers and administrators to share the amazing things happening in our schools, classrooms, clubs, teams and organizations. Our district hashtag, #bpsne, continues to grow and is becoming a powerful tool that we can leverage as a district to connect all of our teachers, students, parents, and community members. We encourage you to continue sharing the great things happening in your classrooms. Here is a list of all of the Bellevue Public School educators on Twitter. Let's create the 2019-2020 Bellevue Public Schools story together!

Tweet Time--Tweets From Those You Know

Use Twitter to connect with others from near and far! If you are someone who is already tweeting, remember to tag your tweets with #bpsne so more teachers can see what is happening in your classroom. Sharing is the name of the game! Remember there are lots of great chats to explore to connect with others in your content area. Just pull up the hashtag and enjoy the conversation.
