Happy Holidays from Argyle ISD!

Argyle ISD wishes all our families and community a happy holidays! Friday marks the start of winter break and students are scheduled to return Tuesday, Jan. 4. All Argyle ISD staff will return Monday, Jan. 3 for a teacher workday. Have a fun, restful and safe break, Eagles!

School Board Approves Elementary Rezoning Plan

The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees approved the elementary rezoning plan for the district starting in the 2022-2023 school year during a regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021.

The Board approved Plan 5 with modifications. Students currently enrolled at West Elementary residing in The Ridge at Northlake community (located north of the Harvest community) will have the option to continue to attend West or attend the new Elementary School #3 located in Canyon Falls.

District No Longer Accepting Transfers at West & AMS

Due to student enrollment growth and lack of available capacity, Argyle ISD is no longer accepting temporary transfers at Argyle West Elementary and Argyle Middle School.

Per School Board Policy FDA (Local), the district accepts transfers subject to capacity availability. Currently, capacity is not available at West Elementary and AMS. This became effective Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021.

Argyle Intermediate, Argyle High School, Hilltop Elementary and Elementary School #3 (which opens in August 2022) have available capacity and will continue to offer temporary transfers. Temporary transfers for West and AMS will be allowed for families who had started the process (including submission of housing contract) prior to Dec. 14, 2021.

Argyle ISD ESL Coordinator Honored

Argyle ISD's Alessander Tooley was recently recognized by the Texas Education Agency! She was featured as an "Administrator Spotlight" in the TEA's English Learner Support Division - Quarterly Newsletters. Congratulations to Ms. Tooley, who joined Argyle ISD in 2020, and we are so grateful for her service to our Eagles students!

AIS Students Showing Off Creative Skills

Argyle Intermediate School students showed off their creative sides in this year's Gingerbread House Contest! This year's competition included 41 entries with a variety of incredible designs and ideas. The winners received a donut party in the library. Special thanks to AIS Librarian Ms. Almeida for providing photos of the contest and winners!

Run, Walk, Jog! Jingle Jog Fundraisers at Hilltop & West

It was an exciting week at the elementary campuses! Hilltop Elementary and West Elementary held their biggest fundraisers of the year with the Jingle Jog. Funds raised from these events are put back into the programs at each campus. Parents and families joined in on the fun and students raced around the campuses during specials time and other classmates cheered them on.

Argyle Shifts to Class 5A in 2022-2023

Argyle High School is moving to Class 5A starting next year.

The University Interscholastic League released the realignment cutoff enrollment figures for all classifications for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years. The enrollment number for schools in Class 5A is 1,300-1,924. Argyle High School reported an enrollment of 1,342 when figures were submitted in October.

The UIL will release the newly-aligned districts on Feb. 3, 2022. At that time, Argyle will learn which schools it will compete against. Argyle has won a record nine consecutive UIL Lone Star Cup Awards and 11 in school history. The move to Class 5A will also impact UIL competitions in fine arts and academics.

BGPC Update: Committee Weighing Bond Package

The Argyle ISD community-driven Bond & Growth Planning Committee held its sixth meeting this week. The committee has started the process of building a bond package after weighing district enrollment projections, facility needs and finances. The BGPC includes 24 members, comprised of parents, Argyle ISD employees and community members. This week's meeting also included an evaluation of the growth and planning survey results from the community. The survey included more than 2,700 responses.

Argyle ISD Receives Financial Accountability Recognition

The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees approved the district's financial audit during Monday's regular board meeting. The district received a "clean" 2020-2021 financial audit by Hankins, Eastup, Deaton, Tonn & Seay. Argyle ISD has received this "clean" report for a minimum of the past six years.

COVID-19 Cases - Reporting & Dashboard

Argyle ISD is providing a COVID-19 dashboard to keep parents, staff, students and the community aware of the positive case totals at the campuses. The dashboard is updated by 6 p.m. each school day. The numbers are based on only cases confirmed through documentation with campus nurses.


GigEm! Argyle's Scarlett Signs With Texas A&M

Argyle Eagle defensive tackle Jadon Scarlett is a new Texas A&M Aggie! Jadon signed Wednesday morning in the fieldhouse with his family, teammates and coaches. His special moment included him with a picture of his late father Noel.

Jadon was part of an A&M recruiting class that was regarded as No. 1 in the country.

Eagle Basketball Wins Fairfield Tournament

The Argyle Eagles' boys basketball team won the Fairfield Tournament last weekend. Argyle defeated Azle in the championship game 59-36. The Eagles carried that momentum into this week with a victory against Celina on the road Tuesday. Argyle returns to action Saturday at Dallas Pinkston at 2 p.m.

Lady Eagles Remain Undefeated With Victory Over Decatur

The Argyle Lady Eagles (19-0, 1-0) remained undefeated on the season following a victory Tuesday to open District 7--4A play against Decatur. The Lady Eagles overcame a 9-0 deficit to start to the game to win 40-23 at the Eagle Arena.

The Lady Eagles will return to action Friday at Lake Worth at 6:15 p.m.
