Perry Hall Pathways
To PHHS Freshmen and Sophomores from the College Counselor
It's Never Too Early!
It's Never Too Early...
...To start thinking about your plans for after high school. My name is Ms. Campbell and I am the College Counselor here at Perry Hall High School. It may seem like it is too soon to plan for life after high school but the time goes quickly.
This year, I will be publishing a newsletter just for Freshmen and Sophomores and their families to let you know about events at school and in the area, as well as what you should be doing now to prepare for your future. Think about it this way...when you are applying to college, a tech school, looking to go into the military or into the world of work, whoever is looking at your application, will only have your body of work from 9th , 10th and 11th grade to go on. That's why it is so important to make every day count in high school.
I am available at Perry Hall Tuesdays and Fridays, and every other Wednesday. Your school counselors at Perry Hall are here everyday to help as well. See below for their contact information. You may always contact me at scampbell3@bcps.org. Also, new this year is the College Counseling group on Schoology. This is a great resource for students and parents. To join, log in to Schoology and join group code: 9BXF-ZC87-VV3SM

What You Should Be Doing Now
-Get off to a good start in your classes. This will set the tone for the year.
-Join a club or activity here at the Hall! Studies show that students who get involved in their school are more successful overall. Plus, colleges WILL be asking you about your activities while in high school!
-If you have an opportunity for an assignment redo, do it!
-Need help in a class? Ask your teacher for help. Attend a coach class with your teacher. Ask your teacher for coach class times and days or send them an email on Schoology.
-Learn how to take GOOD NOTES! Here's a great video to check out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5cQ5bWLi2A
-Get ready for the PSAT. Need practice? Check out Khan Academy https://www.khanacademy.org/
