A Message From Our Superintendent

July 20, 2020

Dear Galena Park I.S.D. Parents/Guardians,

I hope you and your families are faring well throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and I hope you are as excited as I am for the start of the 2020-2021 school year!

As you can imagine, our Reopening 2020 plans are revised every time the TEA, CDC, and/or our local and state authorities issue new guidance to school leaders. For this reason, I'm asking you to remain flexible and patient with us. Please know I am very mindful of your health concerns, as well as our students' educational needs, and consider these priorities when making decisions regarding our return to school.

Please check GPISD's Reopening 2020 webpage (https://www.galenaparkisd.com/Page/8977) several times per week, for up-to-the-minute information about our Reopening plans. While we are eager to reopen our schools, doing so in the safest way possible is my highest priority.

I miss our students and staff very much, and look forward to the opportunity to gather and celebrate being together and all that means for our school community.

Be Safe,

John C. Moore, Ed.D

Superintendent of Schools

Returning Student Verification (RSV)

Galena Park I.S.D. will again utilize Skyward Family Access for parents/guardians to complete Returning Student Verification (RSV). All currently enrolled students who will be attending a GPISD school for the 2020 - 2021 school year are required to complete RSV Skyward Online Registration. The online registration process will allow parents to verify and update contact, emergency and health information for each child. Parents will also select the instructional arrangement for their student(s) and complete forms required for registration. This online registration process will be available on July 20th – July 24th.

For the 2020-2021 school year, proof of residence is only required if you have changed your address. Proof of residence (water, gas, electric bill or lease) can be attached electronically in Skyward.

All Family Access passwords were reset and emailed or mailed. If you have trouble logging into your Family Access account, please contact your child’s campus for assistance. Skyward Family Access will open for RSV on Monday, July 20th at 8:00 a.m.

Please click here to visit the RSV webpage for additional information or to complete RSV. If you have any questions, please call your campus or the District Student Admissions Office at 832-386-1188, or email us at student_admissions@galenaparkisd.com.
