MORT - EHS Play Opens This Weekend!
This play is family friendly, but does have a lot of dialogue. Run time is about 2 hours.
Performances take place at 7:00 on April 13, 14, 20 and 21 on the Edgewood High School Stage.
$5.00 Students and Senior Citizens,
$8.00 General Admission
“Mort” takes place on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, an imaginary flat fantasy world on the back of four elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle swimming somewhere in space for an unimaginable purpose and is the fourth book of a 41 book series. It is a world where the sun doesn’t rise, the light flows and the strange magic that surrounds Discworld often interferes with reality to the point that a “million to one shot often occurs nine times out ten”.
The book series often takes a comical look at contemporary events and attitudes and “Mort” is no exception as the slightly twisted coming of age story of a young man coming to terms with his own mistake and his own feelings. Death has hired him as an apprentice but the young lad takes the wrong soul on his first night alone on the job.
How does he deal with the results of his mistake, and how does he sometimes walk through walls without realizing it and why can’t he do it whenever he wants?
“Terry Pratchett’s Mort” features a cast of seventeen students and a backstage crew of eight to bring to life its many characters and the strange world of the Discworld. They are looking forward to seeing you all join them!
