A Note from our Head of School
Dear HTM Family,
Happy New Year! I hope each of you had some wonderful time with your children and enjoyed a restful break.
I'm always happy to welcome our students back to school, but this time was especially exciting for me as it would be the first opportunity for most of them to experience their brand new classrooms! As you know, we are MOVED IN to our new campus and are enjoying our new space enormously.
It's still overwhelming to walk through those doors each day and take it all in. So many of you have shared my dream to build this school and have supported and encouraged me each step of the way. I could never express to you the gratitude I have for your support and help, and I'm so glad we all get to enjoy our beautiful new campus from now on.
I hope to see many of you at our Open House events later this month, where you can see how your children are adjusting to their new environment. Your child's teachers will send home more information soon. Remember to check the Calendar and Events section of each newsletter for updates on all upcoming events at the school.
Again, thank you for your flexibility as well as your general enthusiasm despite the changes. We look forward to a wonderful spring semester in our new home!
With love,
Kate
Furnishing the Multi-Purpose Room
Now that we're getting settled, we need to purchase tables and folding chairs for our Multi Purpose Room. We'd love for you to help us search for a great buy. In keeping with the Montessori philosophy of reusing and recycling, we'd prefer to find some gently used furniture rather than purchasing new items. However, we want to make sure all the tables and chairs are clean, in good condition, and uniform (same color, model, etc).
Please keep us in mind if you hear of any businesses, churches, hotels, restaurants or other groups who may be interested in selling gently used folding chairs and long tables similar to the ones in our previous space. If you have any leads to send our way, please email us.
Snow Procedures
If it is obvious that roads will be hazardous and unsafe to drive, we'll make the cancellation announcement the night before school. However, sometimes we cannot clearly determine the necessity of a closure until the morning of school. We always try to make the call as early as possible and will definitely announce a closure by 7:00am at the latest.
Cancellation and delay announcements will be posted on Channel 2 and Channel 5 as well as on the HTM Facebook page. Additionally, Kate will send an email to all HTM families to confirm. As always, we encourage our families to use your best judgment and always err on the side of caution if you're concerned about the roads in your area.
Reminder - Send Cold Weather Gear
