Every week, we offer two "spotlight" games for students in order to spark new interest in games and learn new skills. We introduce games during PE time the week before and then the games are showcased at recess the following week.

New MFLC:

Please Welcome New MFLC- Chad Arnold! He will begin supporting in the MFLC role at Village Elementary on December 5 until Kim La Sala returns from maternity leave in March 2023.

Chad has many years of MFLC experience and will be a wonderful additional to the VES MFLC team.

Students may shop the Book Fair during their Library Class Time & Online.

Purchase digital gift cards for your students (may use to shop during library class time) and teachers to use to shop the fair using the above link! Students may also create a wish list during their library class time and shop with an adult during after school hours.

LETTERS TO SANTA: This year children can get a written response to the letters that they write to Santa. The “North Pole Express Mailbox”, located at the Coronado Community (1845 Strand Way) is a direct route to Santa’s house. So stop by the Community Center between December 1st-15th and deposit your letters to Santa. Make sure to address all letters to: Santa Claus, North Pole Express Mail. Also, since at this time of year Santa’s rushed for time, be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your letter. For more information contact the Coronado Recreation Department at

All the Lost and Found items from Village that are unclaimed at the end of the semester, December 16, will be donated to Mueller Charter School. Mueller and all the items were quickly taken by very appreciative students. Lost and Found items will be delivered to Mueller on that same day or right after the holiday break.

CUSD and Village Communication

The Village website and Facebook are updated regularly, and you’ll receive a weekly principal email with a link to our Village Family Newsletter (every Sunday at 5:00pm). Please connect directly with Village Elementary regarding questions and concerns. It is our district protocol/policy that site administrators and school staff DO NOT monitor local Coronado social media sites (ie: Coronado Moms and Dads, Coronado 92118, Coronado Happenings and Crown Talk). Dr. Bergener and office will only monitor posts made by us to the Village Facebook Site and our Village Instagram page. We will try to respond in a timely manner. We highly encourage you to contact Dr. Bergener, Ms. White, your child's teacher or office staff per email or phone, if you have a question or concern.

Their Care Companion team is available 24/7/365 and can support you in any language. Your Care Companion will make phone calls on your behalf to find and book appointments with providers who are matched to your needs. Care Solace has access to thousands of providers or programs that work with all insurances, Medicaid, or offer sliding scale or private payment options.
