"Two are better than one"
Vision
"We dream of a day when homelessness has an answer, where there are no more kids in foster care, where sexual exploitation and broken relationships are replaced with loving, Christ-centered marriages, where poverty is a choice, where every school has a church caring for it, where racism is overwhelmed by love, where Christians are seen as the answer, not the problem and God is worshiped openly in the public again"
Because E49 acts as a bridge between the worlds of church, nonprofit, civic and business organizations, our strategies are geared to meet several critical points in each. First is our overall strategy of “two are better than one”. Everything we do is collaborative. Second is our focus on “connecting, resourcing and mobilizing”. Every initiative we have has a place to connect and get to know each other, fulfills an educational and equipping component and finally a launch and multiply component. Last, our initiatives are developed using a lens of prevention, intervention and transformation with the goal of hitting all three areas either through our own work or by bringing together partners. The following three initiatives fulfill these values and vision for 2015.
Mission
E49 stands for Ecclesiastes 4:9 “where two are better than one…and a three cord strand cannot be broken.” We exist to Connect, Resource and Mobilize civic, business, non-profit, church and community leaders “together” to respond collaboratively to the critical needs in our region.

City Purpose
The “City Purpose” initiative serves as a reflection of the Church through business partners providing a private solution to homelessness and economic development through transformational housing known as “Purpose Housing” and our Kingdom Business Coaching Collaborative at Suite 210. As business minded individuals and organizations take the lead in their area of significance and partner with nonprofits, churches and civic organizations, sustainable business strategies emerge that transform communities. This initiative is played out primarily at Suite 210, a physical co-working space in a Christ centered environment that exists as the operational component of “Connect, Resource and Mobilize”.
City Hope
The “City Hope” initiative represents the Church in the community helping to “Restore Sustainable Communities”. Through annual Day of Hope events designed to create relationships and partnerships to meet the needs in the community, the Church serves schools with clothing, groceries, kids fun, lunch and entertainment. Additionally, through permanent “Hope Centers” and “Hope Zones” churches become a place of refuge for individuals in need. By repurposing their buildings to be community focused both in vision and mission, communities are once again looking to the Church for answers.
City Worship
The “City Worship” initiative serves as a reflection of the Church in Worship. The City Worship initiative focuses on building communities of individuals and organizations looking to “Live Your Worship” through “The Alliance”; they educate others through “The Cultivation” by helping others “tell the story” through the media, arts, music, television, radio, business, documentaries, etc. And finally, they work in communities through “The Experience” events.
Real Estate with Purpose Group
Real Estate with Purpose Group is a social purpose real estate corporation “Building Community Housing and Hope”. REP operates solely in the “for profit” world to bring critical business expertise in the areas of Real Estate and Investment. Through it’s Social Purpose Collaborative bringing real estate experts together around social return projects; through the “Housing and Hope” project which matches social return investors with housing needs in the community and finally through “Reimagine Community” which matches investors with social return commercial projects such as transitional apartment housing, welcome centers for refugees and Hope Centers in Churches.
