Claudette Colvin was born on September 5, 1939. She had an older sister named Gloria Zastar. Her hometown was Montgomery, Alabama. She was adopted by C.P Colvin and Mary Ann Colvin. She went to school at Booker T. Washington High School. She was unmarried at the time but pregnant, so leaders of the Civil rights movement did not want to use her as a spokes person. other people said she was too militant. Claudette Colvin had 2 children one was randy and one was Ronald. her cause of death was old age.one of her childhood events was she stood up for her rights at the age of 15, at this time segregation laws were happening whites were separatedfrom blacks
