Moby Max Edition
October 6, 2015
I am looking forward to spending my day at Braelinn on October 6, 2015. For those who are interested, I would like to provide the opportunity for us to work on the new technologies that the county is implementing. This newsletter is devoted to Moby Max, but we can also work on Raz Kids, or Newsela. I would like to offer you a work session where we can look at best practices for these different resources. Rather than a "sit and get" session, you can bring a Chromebook, log in, and ask questions.
As always, if you need help with your website or other technology integration, I can help with that also.
If you would like to come by, please use this form to sign up. See you soon!
Coming Soon: Early Reading Trio
Moby Max is putting the final touches on a trio of new modules that will turn your beginning readers into proficient readers in no time. The three new modules (Early Words, Early Reading, and Early Writing) work together seamlessly to provide effective and engaging practice for your young readers.
In Early Words, students work on decoding and letter-sound relationships. In Early Reading, students practice newly learned words in the context of fun short stories. With the Early Writing module, students become young authors as they “write” their own stories by dragging and dropping words and pictures onto storybook templates.
You will see the Early Reading Trio automatically appear in your Moby Teacher Panel very soon!

How Can Instructional Technology Help?
I am thrilled to be able to spend time at your school! As an Instructional Technology Specialist, my primary goal is to serve as a resource for teachers who are looking to embed technology into their daily lessons. It is my goal to help you in any possible way. If you would like some specifics of how we can work together, I can:
- meet with you after school or during planning to work on lesson plans
- teach a sample lesson to your students using the Nexus Tablets or Chromebooks
- observe your class and then offer suggestions on how to best embed technology
- provide hands-on assistance in your classroom
